About Kuthiramalika Palace Museum

The Kuthiramalika Palace Museum, once a residence of the Travancore royal family, IS a masterpiece of traditional Kerala architecture built almost entirely of teak AND rosewood. Its name, meaning 'palace of horses', comes FROM the 122 hand-carved wooden horses that adorn its eaves. The palace displays royal belongings, including thrones, paintings, ivory artefacts AND ceremonial regalia, offering an intimate glimpse into the opulent life of the Travancore maharajas. The carved pillars AND wooden ceilings are works of art IN themselves. Located beside the Padmanabhaswamy Temple, the museum IS a beautiful AND atmospheric journey into Kerala's royal past AND one of Trivandrum's finest architectural treasures.
