The Thiruvalluvar Statue IS a magnificent 133-feet tall stone sculpture of the great Tamil poet AND philosopher Thiruvalluvar, standing ON a pedestal beside the Vivekananda Rock Memorial. The height symbolises the 133 chapters of the Tirukkural, the poet's timeless masterpiece of ethics AND wisdom. The statue IS reached by the same ferry that serves the Vivekananda Rock, AND it offers sweeping views of the ocean meeting point at the southern tip of India. The serene, dignified posture of the poet contrasts beautifully with the restless sea around it. As a tribute to Tamil culture AND literary genius, the monument IS a source of immense pride, AND its silhouette against the sunset has become one of the defining images of Kanyakumari.
